May 1st 2010 Steel City Quartet releases new album, Together Again!
The Steel City Quartet is proud to announce the release of their brand-new CD Album “Together Again” and also very pleased to say it is now available for purchase. The sixteen songs on their long-awaited album are receiving rave reviews and the members say they are blessed by the great response their songs are generating. “Together Again” has been a real labor of love and celebration about our getting back together again after ten years of going our separate ways up until three years ago,” tenor singer, Legs said. It was during that time that Legs wanted to do a recording project of his most popular songs which he has performed over the years and decided to take a chance and ask the former group members if they would consider joining him in the studio to sing the backup vocal harmonies for his album. Tim, Glenn, and Ron all agreed, and after only a couple of studio sessions, as the saying goes…the rest is history. The group felt their reunion in the studio was definitely a work of the Lord and all four unanimously decided to hit the road and perform together again. “It was as though those ten years we were apart had never existed,” lead singer, Tim said. “We were amazed at how easy it was for us to pick up right where we had left off vocally…we were just as strong, if not stronger than we had been before.” The engineer of their recording is also a former member of Steel City Quartet – Ray Calfo, Jr. was the drummer back when the group had a live band. Working behind the scenes are two women who travel with SCQ to every concert; Jan Pry (Ron’s wife) is the Sound Technician and Barb Yurasek handles the merchandise at the concerts. Special note of thanks from Ron, Glenn, Legs and Tim: We hope you enjoy our song choices and we want to thank all of our fans new and old for your continued prayer and support. God bless every one of you! Special thanks go to Walter Cunningham from Northern Ireland who wrote “He Did It Because He Loves Me” and co-wrote “Forever He Is Mine” with May Palmer Adair. Walter released both songs to radio stations worldwide for the SCQ through Hillcrest Radio Marketing General Manager and Country Music Radio Promoter/Producer Ross Allen. Thanks Ross!! Both songs have received significant airplay and charted on the European Top -100 Country Radio Station and National Top 40 Charts throughout Europe and the UK. To date they are being heard on radio stations throughout the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom. Also, many thanks to Brad Miller and Carolyn Taylor White who co-wrote the title track on our album specifically for the Steel City Quartet’s celebration of getting back “Together Again.” We cannot thank all the terrific Program Directors and radio disc jockey’s enough for requesting more of our music and for giving us so much airplay – big time thanks to you all! Most important of all…we praise the Lord Jesus Christ for blessing The Steel City Quartet’s music ministry above and beyond all we could ever ask, and for bringing a band of men with hearts touched by Him . . . back. . . “Together Again.” We dedicate this album to the memory of Lana Crawford (Glenn’s wife) who went home to be with our Lord on August 6, 2008 after a year-long battle with Leukemia. God bless! We thank everyone very, very much! Legs, Tim, Ron & Glenn

Hello to all our fabulous fans! As you all know, we’ve been quite busy between working on our next album and keeping up with our concert dates… and we are so thankful for the great turnouts and attendance at all of our performances. So thanks everybody for your terrific support, and we hope we have been as much of a blessing to you as you have been to us. We want to give you an update on the progress of our soon-to-be released CD Album “Together Again” and let you know about the recent release to radio stations worldwide of another terrific southern gospel song we have recorded for inclusion on our album titled “Forever He Is Mine.” It is the second song we have recorded that was written by our talented Northern Ireland friend and renown songwriter/composer Walter Cunningham, who is also the author of our previous single-song release with Ross Allen of Hillcrest Radio Marketing titled “He Did It Because He Loved Me.”
Shortly after the release of “He Did It Because He Loved Me”
Walter contacted us and asked if our group would consider
recording another one of his gospel songs that
he co wrote with May Palmer Adair – and he
also told us he
was “over-the-moon about all the airplay “He Did It Because
He Loved Me” is getting.”

While we were listening to Walter & May’s song demo of “Forever He Is Mine” our baritone Ron Pry said, “I’d really like to sing the lead on this one!” And so we all decided we’d record it, and add the song to our album. Walter sent us the music bed tracks he had hired Steven Cooper at The Songwriters Recording Studio to produce (with some of the finest musicians on Music Row playing). Once we completed the recording of our vocals at StudioPhonix we sent the finished song to Walter and he was so pleased with the way “Forever He Is Mine” turned out that he released it immediately on Hillcrest’s International Multi-Artist Disc. We’re proud to say “Forever He Is Mine” is following in the footsteps of “He Did It Because He Loved Me” and getting rave reviews and a whole lot of airplay! Ross Allen The Steel City Quartet is gaining a significant amount of new fans worldwide and we’re getting requests from radio D.J.’s and Program Directors for more of our songs – they say their listeners are greatly enjoying our music! We cannot thank all the D.J.’s enough for playing our songs; they’ve been just great to the Steel City Quartet!!! Once again, we want to send out a very special thanks to Walter Cunningham and our very good friend Ross Allen, Owner & Manager of Hillcrest Radio Marketing. Like Ross always says, “the best is yet to come…” |

The Steel City Quartet is very pleased to announce that they have been making preparations and rehearsing for their next long-awaited recording project that will begin on the evening of July 22nd at StudioPhonix, a state-of-the-art recording studio in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. ![]()
The first song selection the group choose for their new project is titled, He Did It Because He Loved Me – an inspiring, toe-tapping southern gospel country number penned by international hit-maker Walter Cunningham of Northern Ireland whose self composed songs have been performed by some of gospel music’s finest recording artists, with over half a dozen recorded by the internationally famed Jordanainers. Check out our music page to hear a sample!
“We listened to the song demo one night after practice and we all liked He Did It Because He Loved Me right away,” lead singer, Tim explained. “Everybody in the group agreed – we wanted to record it. When Walter offered to send us the music bedtracks that were recorded by some of Nashville’s top session musicians – it was just a matter of setting some of our time aside to rehearse the song and schedule a date for recording our vocals .”
Shortly after deciding to record He Did It Because He Loved Me, Ross Allen, General Manager of Hillcrest Radio Marketing, and business acquaintance of Cunningham, contacted Tim and told him how excited both of them were about the Steel City Quartet singing and performing this song – and said, “Walter would really like to release it as a single with Hillcrest when it’s finished.”
Hillcrest Radio Marketing has earned a reputation for releasing some of the world’s premier country and gospel artists, and services over 600 radio stations worldwide. It is our great pleasure to announce that the Steel City Quartet’s recording of He Did It Because He Loved Me will be included on the Hillcrest Multi-Artist disc to be presented to radio stations internationally by the last week of September for airplay consideration.
Personal note from the SCQ group members:
“We hope and pray our fans and listeners will be blessed by the first single off our new project, and we want to thank everyone for their continued prayers and financial support.
We thank God for blessing The Steel City Quartet’s music ministry above and beyond all we could ever ask. HE is always faithful! Amen!
And, we especially thank Walter Cunningham and Ross Allen for their unwavering belief in our musical mission and for their very generous out-pouring of support.
God bless,
Tim, Leg’s, Ron, and Glenn |
